This abstract mountain piece was inspired by La Sainte-Victoire, which guards the city Aix-en-Provence where I’m currently living, as well as the surrounding area. It’s a truly incredible mountain, and rises up seemingly out of nowhere to tower over the valley. She is a true goddess of this land.

I named this piece “Pink Mountain” because of the very special, very particular light that shines in this region, which carries a beautiful pink tone at dusk.

Artist to Follow

Finally, I’d like to share my favorite artist to follow this week: Tanya Val. Based in Alaska, Tanya’s work has nature quite literally built into it. A forager who creates her own pigments, Tanya’s work has inspired me to return to nature for deeper inspiration. Also, I just love her color palette!
