Nude Abstract “H”

Line Paintings on Journal Paper

Quite simply, I adore this piece. Watercolor on paper from one of my old journal notebooks, representing a real woman’s figure, in all her glory - this is the work that reminds me why I do art, and for whom. A bit abstracted, I’m interested in exploring the contour lines of nudes in a slower, more intentional process, inspired by the amazing workshops of Laxmi Hussain.

The Luynes
Collection… Coming soon.

I recently spent two weeks working and living in Luynes, France, a few miles outside Aix-en-Provence. The countryside, though surrounded by roads and suburbs in parts, is stunning, peaceful and iconic French, and so inspired a new collection of paintings, chalks and prints which I’m titling “The Luynes Collection”.

What is a Collection?

Launching a collection is a big step in any artist’s career. It symbolizes the ability to work in an organized set, inspired by a single theme. For me, as someone who has felt that my “artistic style” alludes me, this is a huge moment. Coming together with a full set of art which I can present to you all brings me so much excitement and inspiration for future work to come. I can’t wait to launch this collection!

Stay tune for a June 1st launch date!

Artist to Follow

My favorite artist to follow this week is Martha Holmes. Her minimalist, coloristic, & calm paintings on art board and paper have brought me so much serenity since discovering her work. Not only does she have a stunning style, but a beautiful gallery presence and gallery of her own on the Cornish coast. I love just diving into her work and pretending I’m standing on the moody, serene and emotive dunes and cliffs of Cornwall.

Until next time!
