Sunday Series: Nude Minis I

The Sunday Series are inspired by my current idea to paint at least one piece on Sunday that is completely my own - exploring styles, using painting chalk or different media, discovering how different papers and materials affect the texture and emotion of my drawings and paintings, etc.
This series is also inspired by the sacred textures of Sundays: quietude, nakedness, our sacred feminine forms, soft curves and simple rest. Those are the emotions I seek in making these small, minimalist pieces.
“Sunday Series: Nude Minis I” is part of a new initiative to offer original art under $100. Stay tuned for more.
Artist to Follow
My favorite artist to follow this week is Odd Habits, a vintage shop curated with beautiful intention and clear style. I love Ray’s style for her grounded, none-obtrusive vision, presenting something magical yet grounded in all her pieces. I met Ray once people watching outside Stein’s in New Orleans but she’s based in New Mexico now. Check out her really lovely work.
