OF LATE

- resolutions -

Living in the middle of nowhere has some definable perks. This year, I’ve noticed a marked absence of the media din about New Year’s resolutions. Of course, a few voices are nosing out from the Instagram abyss, but mainly, it’s just been… quieter.

I’ve taken this space to continue my resolution tradition from last year which is twofold: 1) Write only one or two resolutions for the year, 2) reduce those by 80%…

Reducing a goal by 80% may seem inane or counterintuitive, but the idea follows well established coaching and therapeutic techniques which address resolution (and other types of) burnout. If you’re like me and dreaming big comes easier than the everyday-isms, you might try the above. Write me back and let me know your thoughts!

Original Pastel Painting + Art Prints

Maybe it’s my bluegrass country upbringing, or my penchant for more earthy tones, but I’ve always loved the wheat fields of Provence above all others.

I’ll never forget a drive I took with my mom last summer in the valley between Roussillon and Gordes. The burnt yellow fields stretched on for miles, a dry heat rising from ochre-colored earth. We stopped for photos, obviously, and were entranced by the melody of wheat stalks dancing in the arid wind, the entire valley singing of summer.

“Wheat Fields of Provence” is the eighth piece in my Provence Series. It is available in my shop for sale as the original painting and as fine art prints in five sizes, starting as small as 5x7” ($28) up to 24x32”.
