The Sunday Series are inspired by my current idea to paint at least one piece on Sunday that is completely my own - exploring styles, using painting chalk or different media, discovering how different papers and materials affect the texture and emotion of my drawings and paintings, etc.

This series is also inspired by the sacred textures of Sundays: quietude, nakedness, our sacred feminine forms, soft curves and simple rest. Those are the emotions I seek in making these small, minimalist pieces.

This watercolor painting is made on parchment paper : woven and textured, with almost a bark-like quality, this art has an earthy, old-style which would pair nicely with an antique frame or, for a more modern contrast, a simple light-wood frame with floating mat style.
